International Rare Earth Price Fell to The Level

Before China Cut Export Quotas 2010

Source: China Daily (Beijing) Date: June 3rd, 2015

Japan Economic news reports that international rare earth price falls. The price of Neodymium and dysprosium which are used to produce high magnetic performance magnets falls about 20~30% in late of May compared to that in April. Because China, the main resource of rare earth had cancelled export duties, the price has already fallen back to the level before price rocketing boom in 2010.

Neodymium price is currently USD66 per kilogram, the price of dysprosium is around USD350 per kilogram, whose price is however at the lowest in the five years. China cut down the export quotas in 2010, which led the rare earth price booms more than 7 times.

China counts 70%~80% of total rare earth supply worldwide. And China cancelled the export quotas in 2015 and cancelled export duties on May 1st, 2015.
